The Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is responsible for assisting the priest by distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at the weekend Masses and other special Masses throughout the year. Training for this liturgical ministry is provided throughout the year. The ministers are assigned on a rotating schedule. Must be at least 16 years old and practicing the faith.
The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion also serve the needs of the shut-ins, sick and homebound of the parish. Those helping serve the homebound are on a separate schedule than the weekly Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion schedule.
